What to do in Ushuaia: welcome to the end of the world

How would it feel to spend a few days in the southernmost city in the world? When you land at the airport in Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego, the most exciting days of your life begin. Patagonia, and Ushuaia in particular, have a magic that is unique in the world.

You can't talk about Ushuaia without mentioning the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Its 68,909 hectares are a mix of marine, forest and mountain environments, which you can explore in different ways. To get to the park, many choose to take the End of the World Train, one of the tours in Ushuaia that is a favourite among younger tourists. Once inside the park, you have many options you can choose,  from trekking and canoeing to sport fishing.

Our recommendation is that you organize everything you want to do during your visit to Tierra del Fuego National Park and, depending on your plans, buy your tickets before traveling (here you can see the updated prices).

Another must-do when visiting the end of the world is to meet its friendliest inhabitants, the penguins. In Ushuaia there are two types of penguin species, the Magellanic, in greater numbers, and the Gentoo, in smaller numbers. There are different options to get closer to these animals, such as, for example, visiting Gable Island. But, of course, these are not the only animals that live in Tierra del Fuego. You can also see fauna in its natural habitat in places such as Sea Lion Island or Bird Island.

If you fancy a calm activity in Ushuaia but that still requires movement, we recommend visiting Lake Escondido and Lake Fagnano, where you will visit winter resorts and reach places with panoramic views of the Patagonian landscape. If you are looking for something more challenging, you will love trekking around Emerald Lagoon.

Of course, if you are looking for comfort on your trip from the moment you land in Ushuaia, do not hesitate to contact us and we will organize your shuttle from the airport to your accommodation (and vice versa) in this incredible region of Tierra del Fuego. Enjoy this new adventure!
