Ascent to an altitude of 19,685 feet with a night camping out at 16,962 feet and a crater at an altitude of 19,931 feet.
Day 1: Arequipa - Volcano Foothills - Base Camp.
We will depart from Arequipa to begin the trek up Chachani Volcano. The 4x4 vehicle will take you to the foothills of Chachani Volcano, which, despite its considerable height of over 6,000 meters, has almost no snow on its summit due to the extreme dryness of the atmosphere. After a hike of approximately two hours, you will reach base camp, located at an altitude of 5,170 meters. Here you can rest and prepare for the next day. (On this day, each passenger must bring their own lunch and snack.)
Day 2: Base Camp - Volcano Crater - Arequipa.
You will wake up very early in the morning to have breakfast and then begin the climb to the volcano crater. It's a slow climb that lasts approximately six hours. Once at the summit, which is at 6075 m altitude, you will have time to rest and take photographs. Here you can appreciate the ancient crater and the surrounding landscape. After this rest time you will begin the descent to the camp, where you can pack all your equipment, and then continue to the transportation that will take you back to Arequipa.
