You will begin this Sloth & Bird Watching tour in the heart of the University City, from where you will head to the University of Costa Rica campus. Here, you will explore a fascinating urban ecosystem, one of the largest expanses of forest in the city, and the sloth population that still inhabits San José.
During the tour, one of the guides, who are biology students, will help you spot and recognize different species of resident and migratory birds, explaining their importance. You will also learn about native and exotic plants, insects, spiders, fungi, and their crucial role in the environment. On this tour, you will appreciate urban nature and the small green spaces within the city.
