What to bring
We’ll depart from San Pedro de Atacama toward the Cordillera de la Sal, in the heart of the Atacama Desert, the driest on Earth. Our destination: the iconic Moon Valley (Valle de la Luna), a landscape of erosion-carved rock formations, salt crusts, the towering Duna Mayor, and views that feel otherworldly.
You’ll cross the valley to visit its most famous highlights: Las Tres Marías, the Canyon, and the Amphitheater, perfect for photography and quiet contemplation. The day ends with sunset at the Likan-Antay viewpoint, when the desert shifts colors and the volcanoes on the horizon glow in oranges and pinks.
If you’re looking for a must-do tour in San Pedro, this route blends nature, geology, and unforgettable views, ideal for travelers seeking a complete Atacama Desert experience.
Important notes
Likan-Antay viewpoint is closed until further notice due to roadwork along the route to the site. The sunset will be viewed from an open location.
